The Purpose of Your Calling:
Through your ward outlined Scouting Program, help the assigned young men in your ward to build desirable qualities of character, learn leadership skills, be aware of the responsibilities of citizenship, develop personal fitness, and help these young men honor their priesthood. To support the mission of the local BSA Council: It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people, and other ways to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The values we strive to instill are based on the Scout Oath and Law. The aims of Scouting are to develop in youth (1) a strong ethical character, (2) an active, participating citizenship, including leadership ability, and (3) personal fitness: physical, mental, emotional and moral..

Guidelines of Your Stewardship:

1. Register with the Boy Scouts of America.
2. Attend Basic Training course related to the type unit of which you are a member---pack, troop, team or Crew.
3. Attend at the monthly committee meeting as part of the monthly ward Key Scout Leaders meeting.
4. Get to know and become closely aware of all leaders and young men in your ward unit.
5. Study and use the Pack/Troop/Team or Crew committee Guidebooks.
6. Learn how you can support your assigned unit.
7. Assist the unit to run a Quality Award program.
8. Determine that all scouting units are planning tentatively one year ahead in their programs and definitely programs three months in advance.
9. Read manuals, understand program, review scouting videos if available.
10. Maintain the standards of a chartered organization and BSA.
11. Actively participate in scouting activities.
12. As an adult support committee provide resources and give needed assistance to your assigned unit
13. Become proficient at being a good leader developer, through study, awareness and application.
14. As an adult support committee, arrange for trip permits for all outside the ward activities involving travel.
15. Ensure support of BSA Council and District Activities.
16. Be aware of unit's program calendaring and plan development supports well in advance.
17. Ensure that program policies and guidelines are followed.
18. Give committee cooperative support to unit leaders so that they are not running the program by themselves.

Qualifications you should develop
1. Ability to work closely with young men and other committee persons.
2. Ability to organize time effectively.
3. Ability to develop leadership and team spirit.
4. Willingness to serve.
5. A testimony and good relationship with the Lord

1. Attend the monthly ward Key Scout Leaders committee meeting portion.
